2. Children's Privacy (Under Age 13 Compliance)
Parental & Student Guarantee:
Because our curriculum covers Classes 6, 7, and 8 (typically ages 10 to 14), we strictly adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation for Kids (GDPR-K), and the Google Play Families Policy. We do not solicit, gather, or share any personal information from children under any circumstances.
3. Device Permissions & Explanation
To deliver an uninterrupted learning experience, the application requests minimal Android system permissions:
- INTERNET (`android.permission.INTERNET`): Required solely to stream and download official NCERT chapter PDFs directly from the designated open GitHub repository.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (`android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`): Used to check whether the device has an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection before starting large PDF downloads.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (`android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): Used on Android 13+ to send optional daily study practice alerts, quiz challenges, and download completion notifications. Can be toggled on/off in App Settings at any time.
- VIBRATE (`android.permission.VIBRATE`): Used to deliver gentle native haptic feedback when tapping quiz answers and toggling navigation tabs.
4. Third-Party Services & Content Delivery
The application retrieves publicly licensed textbook materials from our configured GitHub repository (Aisht1110/NCERT). When fetching study files, your device connects directly to GitHub's raw content delivery servers (raw.githubusercontent.com) via standard HTTPS. We do not use any third-party advertising SDKs, marketing trackers, or behavioural analytics frameworks (such as Facebook SDK, AdMob, or Firebase Analytics).
5. Offline Data Storage & Security
All downloaded textbooks and notes are stored within the application's private, sandboxed app directory on your device. No other application on your phone can access your downloaded study materials or reading progress without explicit device root permissions. You can permanently clear all cached materials at any time via the Clean All button in the Downloads screen.
